Today 160 cities across Canada hosted MS Walks to raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. I had several friends participate across the GTA but the thinkGood. team chose to participate in the walk in Hamilton.
I had mentioned in a previous post that a close friend of mine had encouraged me to join in the fun to help her support a friend of hers who was diagnosed with multiple Sclerosis not to long ago, so that’s what we did.
I have participated in many fundraising efforts before, but this one was very well organized, and very inclusive to all walks of life and demographics!
Upon arrival they had breakfast for you provided by Tim Hortons, countless volunteers to help with registration and directing traffic flow. I must say it was a great way to start the day. Every team was asked to take a professional photograph with your team, not to mention there were teams dressed in cowboy outfits, pirate costumes, and even the dogs came out to support!
We were then greeted by a drumming procession, and cheerful and encouraging volunteers. Along the way we were provided with a healthy snack and water to keep our energy levels up. The walk concluded with lunch provided by Boston Pizza and M & M Meats. GOOD day, GOOD cause, GOOD people!
P.S. GO TEAM SARAH!!!!!!!!!!! Check out the pics below!
