Make Treks Like I’m Homeless embraces the significance importance of storytelling. Through the sales of t-shirts, donations, and partnerships, this organization provides care packages to the homeless in exchange for an opportunity to share their stories online. All profits are given back to those interviewed. They hope to change the way society views and treats people who are living on the street by providing unique portraits of what life is like for the homeless.
Make Treks is a group of young people committed to doing the right thing. No one involved with Make Treks is paid for their work. Make a donation, buy a t-shirt, watch a digital portrait: here.

Sunday, November 6th, 2011Your Man Reminder
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011Breast cancer awareness month is coming to and end, but the need for regular breast exams isn’t going anywhere! Women looking for a friendly self-check reminder need look no further. There’s an app for that. Really.
“Your Man Reminder” is a cheeky app that uses male models to remind women to give their breasts a little TLC (touch, look, and check).
The beauty in this app and campaign is not the eye candy, but that it lasts beyond the month of October, and it encourages women to take care of themselves. The iPhone app is available here, and an android app is to be released.
Rethink Breast Cancer is a Canadian organization and the great minds behind “Your Man Reminder”. They will also be bringing us Breast Fest, a film festival highlighting the spectrum of issues surrounding breast cancer. Breast Fest takes place November 18th – 20th at the ROM.
