In sports and recreation, a game is never JUST a game. It is as much about winning as it is about life lessons, and good old fashioned fun. Now as someone who works with younger people, I’m often perturbed at what a 16 year old finds fun and entertaining. As a self-proclaimed nerd, I find it difficult to relate to games like farmville, and shows about prank calls, but to each their own. You see, I live the life of a dreamer some might say, where ideally everyone has Good. intentions, wants to help as many people as possible, and enjoys a Good. old fashioned fun game. Fortunately, I’m not alone! There are others out there who believe it’s possible to mix fun, good intentions, and social responsibility.
Yoxi (pronounced Yo-see) is a creative competition and social game where teams of problem solvers battle to deliver the best solutions to social issues. You vote, comment, pledge and play along online. The winning team gets the funding opportunities and positioning to make their idea a reality. The more stuff you do, the more your voice is heard. That way, you play to support great ideas brought to the real world.
Sounds interesting right? Check out www.yoxi.tv to find out more. The first social issue they’re attacking is reinventing fast food. There are always moments in life where you need to grab something on the go, and wouldn’t it be great if you could have something like the golden arches that was actually Good. for you? Well Yoxi may just solve our fast food dilemma!
