While at a friend’s house we came across the new Kings of Leon single Radioactive. The thing I appreciate most about the concept of the video is that it’s definitely open for interpretation. Like any piece of art we try and make sense of what we are experiencing, whether it be visually, aurally or kinesthetically. My interpretation of Radioactive was definitely that there is more behind what meets the ear and eye.
While watching the behind scenes footage of of the video I gained a new found respect for the Kings of Leon. They explained that they wanted to create a video where their audience could see a different side of them. Instead of the big blockbuster music video with money, sex and rock and roll as the theme, they wanted to show us that they are just regular guys who like to have fun and enjoy fun childhood experiences like everyone else. Through this video they were able to humanize themselves and exhibit how relatable they are just as people, and to stay true to their humble roots. Check out the video and let us know how you have interpreted Radioactive.
