A couple weekends back I had the exciting pleasure of moving out. I was starting from scratch and had to purchase everything from plates to pillows. I thought this would be the perfect oppurtunity to recycle by purchasing second hand decor and furniture.
On my recycling mission I visited several second hand stores including Value Village. I have donated my clothes many times to Value Village with regret I never shopped there before. I feel like I discovered the best kept secret that I need to share with the world. I found teapots, vintage teacups, a beautiful vase, an armchair that I am going to have re-upholstered and so much more.
Value village has collection drop-offs at most of their locations. The proceeds from the sales are donated to local charities all over Canada, The United States and Australia.
I suggest to everyone before you go new consider second hand stores first. It’s usually half the price and just needs a little extra love to make it as good as new!
