Can’t Use Your Ticket?

Growing up in the GTA there are so many great opportunities to have fun whether you’re a child, adult, or somewhere in between.  I’m so thankful to all the caring adults in my life who provided me with super awesome experiences over the years. To this day I’ll never forget my first concert at the Molson Amphitheatre where I saw Lauryn Hill perform. That experience was definitely life changing and I still treasure the experience today; Thanks Tina!  Childhood experiences like visiting museums, experiencing a live play, or watching your hometown team play ball are not only thrilling, but open a developing mind up to all the possibilities and opportunities there are in the world. We may not all be the designated hitter on the baseball team, or the famed painter with an exhibit, but what about the museum curator who pulls the exhibits together? Or the back-up dancer or sound engineer at a concert?

Kids Up Front is a Canadian organization that recognizes the importance of providing fun and entertaining experiences to children in need. Kids Up Front believes that all children should be able to see their heroes perform. Through their program “Can’t Use Your Ticket?” they’re able to provide children who typically wouldn’t have access to arts, culture, sport and recreation events with tickets to what can be the experience of a lifetime. Kids Up Front works with concert organizers, promoters, theatre groups, entertainment organizations, sports groups and individual donors to ensure that children across Canada get to experience all they can. Through partnerships with local child-serving charitable agencies in cities across Canada more than 600,000 tickets have been distributed to date. An empty seat at a stadium, arena, or theatre  is really an opportunity to change the life of a young person. The next time you can’t make that special event think twice, think Good. and donate those tickets to someone in need. For more info. click here.
