This past weekend one of our thinkGood. friends Kerina invited us out for an afternoon of teapot shopping at St. Lawrence Market. To our delight Buskerfest was taking place and we got to enjoy the festivities as well as bargain hunt for our teapots. Buskerfest, for those of you who may not know, is a festival with amazing street performers such as mimes, magicians and stilt walkers, with proceeds of the festival going to Epilepsy Toronto. The money raised at Buskerfest will help fund awareness, educational and research programs associated with epilepsy.
It was definitely a magical event to say the least. Not only were the performances great but the food was amazing. The beautiful thing about Toronto is the diversity in ethnicities and cultures, who were very well represented as food vendors for the festival. Although I am making more than a conscious effort to refrain from eating food cooked and prepared outside of my home, I couldn’t help but try the tasty treats that Buskerfest had to offer.
Buskerfest was located right outside of St. Lawrence Market where we finished off our afternoon with some bargain vintage home decor and even a few pieces of jewellery. Boy did we find more than our wallets would give permission for.
Upon my recent move I quickly realized how expensive it is to furnish a home so I decided to reduce, reuse and recycle! I found some accent pillows for my couch, a vintage tea pot and an eclectic mixture of French inspired tea cups. For any one of our readers who are moving out or want to accessorize their homes, try going to a flea market, garage sale or places like St. Lawrence market. There’s no better feeling than getting a good deal!
