Refreshing Ideas

I first heard about the Pepsi Refresh Project last year via twitter, and I was so excited only to find out grants were only being distributed in the USA. But things have changed this year!! Our thinkGood. friend CJ let us know that for 2010 Pepsi has expanded the Refresh Project to Canada thank Goodness!

So what’s the Pepsi Refresh Project all about?

Well quite simply, Pepsi is giving away over a million dollars in grants to fund great ideas.
No really! They are. The Pepsi Refresh Everything Project is looking for Good ideas from individuals, groups, businesses, and non-profits that will benefit communities. Every other month 10 ideas are chosen based on votes, and each cycle Pepsi gives away $200,000.

How does it work?

Think of an idea. Put your big brain (or brains) to work and come up with an idea that can benefit others, whether it’s your neighbourhood, your city or the entire country. You could save something, create something, or change something. It’s your call. Just come up with a clear, constructive project idea that can be put into action soon.

What kind of projects are sought?

• It should have a positive impact on a community.
• It should be achievable within 12 months and ready
to start soon.
• It should have measurable results.

And remember we don’t say good luck, we say don’t give up!! If you’re trying to make a difference in the world, and you don’t receive a grant, it’s all GOOD! Your attitude and desire to make a difference is what really matters. thinkGood. is a great example of doing what you can to make a difference with the resources you do have. So don’t give up, and keep up the Good work! Check out this video from the 2009 campaign with the great music from the Black Eyed Peas. It really visualizes what the whole campaign is about.
