Every year my beloved former co-workers at Mercedes Benz Mississauga trade in their high styling luxury vehicles for road bikes in the name of charity. I spent ten years in the car industry at several dealerships and this dealership by far takes the cake when it comes to doing good. Not only does the dealership sponsor The Healing Cycle every year but the staff make a personal commitment to raise thousands of dollars in aid of this fantastic initiative.
The Healing Cycle’s goal this year was to raise one million dollars to help support the palliative care unit at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Palliative care is the service and care needed to help terminally ill patients and their families deal with the circumstances and emotional trauma that surrounds someone who is coming to the end of their life cycle.
Every year The Healing Cycle hosts their main fundraising event in June called the Healing Cycle Ride. This ride takes place in North Mississauga by the GSK compound and throughout bike trails and roads in the area. Seasoned cyclists, families and die hard fundraisers alike join together to ride in the name of GOOD.
A enormous thinkGood. thank you goes out to Mercedes Benz Mississauga for their fundraising efforts year after year! Also thank you to Edward Garcia for his photography skills. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the event as I wasn’t in the country, but next year I hope to get my ride on! Check out a few pics below of the Mercedes Benz team.
