Certified Do-Gooder: Justine Chomski

As you may remember from our previous post, Justine Chomski organized the fabulous bachelor and bachelorette fundraiser for Off the Mat into the World. It was such a great event, that we knew we had to know more about the  lovely lady who organized it. To find out more about Justine keep reading.

1. Who am I?
My name is Justine Chomski and I’m a fearless female!

2. What is your cause/organization?
My organization is The Seva Project. I am raising money in collaboration with Off The Mat, Into The World to raise money for charities in South Africa.

3. How did you get to where you are today?
My yoga practice has brought me to this place of wanting to be of service to others.

4. What is the greatest obstacle you’ve had to overcome?
To keep believing in myself and not to let fear stop me.

5. What inspires you to do Good?
Other people that are making a difference. We are privileged to live where we live, others are not.

6. How are you trying to change the world?
First by helping Children with Aids in South Africa. Over 33 million people have aids there. They have lost the working force 18-50 to aids so children are looking after children, we need to help them, this wasn’t their choice.Second my own community after this challenge.

7. Do you have a hero?
Anyone that keeps on making a difference and believing they are. Just them continuing to put one foot in front of the other, even when they don’t want too.

8. What makes you feel Good?
Being the shift in someones day towards the positive.

 9. If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
I’ve often thought of that…I’d continue to teach yoga, travel and continue to assist others in making a difference in their lives through my own foundation at home and abroad.

10. What was your last act of kindness?
Feeding a homeless person and giving them shelter

11. Where are you proud to call home?
Port Credit, Mississauga. A little slice of heaven
