This past Thursday May 13th, thinkGood. was invited to a fundraiser that wasn’t your typical run, walk or bake sale.  It was a night of stiletto heels, poker playing, bachelor and bachelorette bidding, silent auctioning, GOOD times.   Justine Chomski who created the event, culminated an environment for socialites to gather and raise money for a GOOD cause.  All proceeds went to Off The Mat, Into The World.  It is because of people like Justine that countless children that need our help around the world are able to access services that we as Canadians may take for granted.   Thank you to Justine and her team for putting forth such an extra-ordinary effort out of the GOODness of their heart.  Your passion and dedication is what is needed in this world.  Below is some information on Off the Mat, Into the World:

Off the Mat, Into the World uses the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and to ignite grass roots social change. (http://www.offthematintotheworld.org/)

Each year, Off The Mat, Into the World sponsors an international service project called the Global Seva Challenge. The Global Seva Challenge is a transformational journey that builds community, provokes critical consciousness about global issues of social justice and equity, and raises significant funds to support communities in crisis.

The Global Seva Challenge 2010 is focused on supporting humanitarian efforts in South Africa. Over 33 million people are living with HIV/AIDS today with 67% living in sub-Saharan Africa.
