With the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa just around the corner, thinkGood. wanted to shed a little light on FIFA’s socially responsible initiative Football for Hope. Football for Hope was created as a unique global movement that uses the power of football to achieve sustainable social development. Each year, Football for Hope supports many new programs that specifically address social challenges in local communities and provide children and youth with valuable tools to make a difference. Since its inception, Football for Hope has supported more than 100 programs in over 50 countries.
As part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup the 20 Centres for 2010 campaign was developed and its aim is to create 20 Football for Hope Centres to promote public health, education and football in disadvantaged communities across Africa. This Football for Hope movement led by FIFA and streetfootballworld, the campaign will leave a tangible social legacy for Africa.
Kudos to FIFA for recognizing the power of play!
